Teleki Irsai Olivér BIB 3L

Type of Wine

Rosé Wine

The most popular aromatic grape variety of Hungary, which was crossed by Pál Kovács viticulturist in 1930. According to the legend he sold the right of naming the new variety to his carter due to his serious debt of gambling with cards. The story is fake, Kocsis named the varietal after the son of a respected wine merchant, because he did not want to give his rather simple name to such a flamboyant variety (’Kocsis’ means carter). And indeed, Teleki Irsai Olivér has attractive, intensive nose typical of the variety, reminiscent of table grape. On the palate it is refreshing and slightly spicy. An ideal thirst quenching wine!
